Custom Dynamics first teamed up with The Ornery One for their annual Biker’s Pay it Forward campaign in 2020. After a successful fundraiser for the Wilson family, Custom Dynamics continues to participate alongside TJ & Stephanie to support our community and those individuals or families in need. This year, we introduce Nicole Boyd and her cancer journey.
Nicole is a 40 year-old, single mother of three children. At age 38, the official diagnosis was B cell Lymphoma non-Hodgkins – Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This is rare for someone under the age of 40 and incurable . She lives just outside of Daytona Beach, Florida with her three children (16, 15, and 11 y/o) who are her support group along with her mother and father.
Nichole led a career as a hospice nurse leading up to her diagnosis. She worked in the field, covering one of the larger local hospitals in her territory. Since starting her 24-month treatment plan, Nicole has had to leave her job. She was forced to take a work-from-home position because the infusions leave her immune compromised. Furthermore, this job change resulted in a 25% decrease in her income.
Additionally, to combat the financial burden of insurance premiums and medicine expenses, Nichole sold her home. She now lives in a smaller rental property with her three kids.
Support Her Cancer Journey
Starting November 1st Custom Dynamics and The Ornery One will begin sharing Nicole’s story. Nicole has already documented and shared her cancer journey on her TikTok page. She continues to post treatment and testing updates there as well. As of November 1st, 2023 Nicole has a PET/CT scan scheduled to further investigate a recently discovered bone lesion. She also has an upcoming oncology appointment to review her results and determine if remission is achieved. From here, she will meet with a blood cancer specialist at Moffitt Cancer Center to formulate an ongoing treatment plan.
Your support and encouragement have been incredibly uplifting during this challenging time. I’m grateful for each and every one of you who’s been a part of this journey with me. -Nicole Boyd
