HOW LOUD ARE THEY?
The noise makers are made in Italy by renowned horn manufacturer MARCO. MARCO is respected in their field for high quality standards and unmatched performance. Single low tone horn blasts an impressive 109 decibels with a frequency of 400 hertz. Similarly, its high tone counterpart produces 109 decibels at 500 hertz. Combined, at 2 meters, the loud motorcycle dual horn kit tops out at 112 decibels. This is impressive comparing the 85 decibel reading from the factory motorcycle horn.
Decibel measurements can be a bit tricky. Especially, when comparing loud motorcycle horns. On the decibel scale, a near total silence will measure at 0 dB. A sound measuring 10 dB is 10-times more powerful. While a sound measuring 20 dB is actually 100-times more powerful than near total silence.
Near total silence - 0 dB A whisper - 15 dB Normal conversation - 60 dB A lawnmower - 90 dB A car horn - 110 dB A rock concert or a jet engine - 120 dB A gunshot or firecracker - 140 dB
Distance can also play a factor in sound. Sound diminishes as you move further away. It’s important to consider this when shopping for a loud motorcycle horn to increase riders’ safety. Custom Dynamics data represents readings taken from 2 meters or roughly 6.5 feet away. The combined 112 dBs from the dual tone electromagnetic horn is a true representation of its powerful sound and the effectiveness on other drivers.

I recently purchased the NEW 109 decibal horn for my 2023 Anniversary Harley Heritage. I LOVE the new horn, and added a review which I’d like to edit but I can’t locate the original review.
The horn has a Quality finish as ALL the many products I”ve purchased from Custom Dynamics for my many bikes, from Honda VTX, Goldwings, and now two Harleys, but I am concerned that the positioning of the opening on this horn due to the mounting will allow water to easily get into the horn, and would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Again, I’d like to edit my original review if you can give me access. I rated the horn as a 3, only due to the concern with water getting into the opening, and would otherwise Easily rate the product as a five.
Mark S
Hi Mark, these MARCO horns carry a IP65 rating. This rating indicates the device is 1) Totally dust tight. Full protection against dust and other particulates. and 2) Protection against low-pressure jets (6.3 mm) of directed water from any angle (limited ingress permitted with no harmful effects). So, while we would not advise power washing your horn, riding in rain and washing your bike by hand should not cause damage to your horn. Keep in mind, we also offer a 3-year warranty on this product, too!
